DESCRIPTION:Infective Endocarditis and its Implication for DentistryWebinar presented by Tristan Bradshaw, Specialty Registrar, Oral Surgery, NHS Tayside Wednesday 25th June 2025 6.30pm-7.30pm -£35Tristan has worked within OMFS and Oral Surgery units across England, Wales and Scotland, and is currently in the final year of his Specialty training to become a consultant. He has taught within oral surgery at a local and national level, and is regularly involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and examinations. \n\nThis session will cover the background of infective endocarditis, common conditions associated with the risk of developing this, and considerations for general dentistry. It will end with an overview of the current UK and international guidelines, and the potential controversies surrounding these.\n\nKey learning outcomes\n\nGain an understanding of the mechanism of a patient developing infective endocarditis.\n\nBe able to identify patients who are at risk of infective endocarditis, and understand how to manage them in general practice.\n\nUnderstand the role of antibiotic prophylaxis in these patients\n\nSee the current national  and international guidance available for management of these patients, and understand why there are differences between them.\n\nGDC Outcomes C - 1 hour CPD\n\nThis webinar is open to Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Therapists and Dental Nurses.\n\n
