Guided Biofilm Therapy-Dental Therapists

This session is designed specifically for dental therapists looking to enhance their clinical skills and confidence in delivering preventive and periodontal care using Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT).

Learn how biofilm impacts both oral and systemic health and how GBT—using AIRFLOW MAX, PERIOFLOW and PIEZON PS can be integrated into your daily practice for effective non-surgical periodontal treatment. You'll also explore your vital role in the assessment, treatment and maintenance of patients with dental implants, including when to refer for specialist care.

With guidance from expert trainers and real-world case studies, this session will help you position GBT not just as a clinical tool but as a practice-builder to attract and retain patients

Aims & Objectives:

  • Understand biofilm’s impact on oral and systemic health
  • Discover GBT’s role in preventative dentistry and prophylaxis
  • Learn to use GBT in non-surgical periodontal treatment
  • Gain hands-on experience with AIRFLOW MAX, PERIOFLOW and PIEZON PS
  • Review clinical evidence and case studies supporting GBT
  • Position GBT as a practice builder to attract and retain patients
  • Engage with expert trainers and peers to optimize GBT in your practice

 

 Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe the role of the dental hygienist/therapist in the assessment, treatment, and maintenance of a
  • patient with dental implants.
  • Identify the equipment and materials necessary to provide adequate support to these patients.
  • Understand the necessary skills and knowledge to provide assessment, treatment and supporting care
  • competently and confidently for these patients.
  • Understand when referral for more specialist care is necessary
