Today marks the beginning of our Dental Implant Nursing journey! Our first day focuses on building strong foundations in implant dentistry and patient care.
Introduction to Dental Implants
- Overview of implant dentistry, history, benefits & types
- Understanding jaw anatomy and bone density
- Indications & contraindications for implant placement
Patient Care & Communication
- Preoperative preparation: medical history, consent & anxiety management
- Understanding the patient journey (FCA–Restorative)
- Communicating effectively about implant care & recovery
Sterilisation & Infection Control
- Best practices for sterilisation and instrument care
- Implant-specific infection control protocols
- Preparing the surgical environment
- PPE and surgical hand hygiene

The A9 is the main trunk road into Perth. We are located in the centre of Perth with good transport links. Perth Train Station is a 10 minute walk away as is the main Bus Station. All day parking is available behind the Academy at Thimblerow car park, charges apply. The car park is only a 2 minute walk away. Entry to the Academy is via our Sure Smile Studio located on the ground floor of 31 South Methven Street, Perth, PH1 5PE.
