This session introduces key concepts in digital dentistry, focusing on digital workflows, patient scanning and the DS Core pathway. Participants will build confidence in using scanning technology, communicating its benefits to patients, and supporting clinicians with equipment setup, maintenance and workflow integration. By the end attendees will be able to confidently contribute to sending digital scans to the lab.
This full-day training course provides a practical introduction to digital dentistry, focusing on the integration of intraoral scanning and digital workflows into everyday clinical practice. Participants will explore the principles of digital identity, gain hands-on experience with patient scanning using Primescan, and develop confidence in communicating the benefits of digital technologies to patients.
The course also covers the end-to-end DS Core workflow, including managing cases and securely sending scans to the laboratory. In addition, attendees will learn how to effectively support clinicians by preparing equipment, maintaining systems, and troubleshooting common issues. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute confidently to a streamlined, patient-centred digital workflow.
The aim of the course is to equip participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to support and implement digital dentistry workflows, including intraoral scanning and DS Core integration, within clinical practice.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Explain the concept of digital identity and its role within modern dental workflows.
- Describe the end-to-end digital dentistry workflow and its benefits for patients and the dental team.
- Demonstrate confidence in performing or supporting intraoral scanning using Primescan.
- Communicate the benefits and process of digital scanning clearly and effectively to patients.
- Navigate the DS Core platform to manage cases and send scans to the laboratory.
- Support clinicians by preparing equipment, carrying out basic maintenance, and resolving common issues.
- Apply digital workflows in a safe, accurate, and professional manner in line with best practice.
